Suggestions: Notification counter

Hi Andrij,

I downloaded BP Better Messages 1.7.4 today. You’ve made a lot of great improvements. Nice work!

I know you might already have changes to the notification system on your to-do list, but I thought I’d make a post about it just in case:

1.
In the BuddyPress menu, the Messages line shows a counter with the number of unread messages. Currently, a counter with ‘0’ appears if there are no unread messages. When the counter value is ‘0’, the counter should probably not be displayed at all.
An alternative is to add another class to the counter, such as ‘bp-better-messages-unread-empty’.

2.
To make it easier to tell how many conversations have unread messages, you might consider making the counter value based on conversations instead of individual messages.
So if I receive 10 messages from John, and 5 messages from Sue, the counter would show ‘2’ instead of ’15’.

This is all up to you of course. I just know when I develop a plugin, I appreciate as much feedback as possible. =)
